This website has a series of articles, links and resources all written in a way that does not assume you have any prior understanding or background. A good starting point for understanding. Really essential reading for a Christian overview of one of the fastest growing faiths in our world. We must love our Muslim brothers and sisters, but we must never assume that they know Jesus as Savior.

More scholarly, intellectual approach, very detailed–a list of articles about Islam from The Christian Research Institute

Following is their list of articles, the ones that I made bold are some of the best.

  • **IS ISLAM THE “END” OF CHRISTIANITY? (PART TWO)
  • Using the Qur’an and the Hadith (traditional saying, verbal history of Mohammed) as a Bridge for Sharing the Gospel
This is an excellent, though lengthy article—here is a quote from it:“Very few Muslims will deny the authority of the hadith, and no true Muslim can deny the authority of the Qur’an. Based on this syllogism, we can encourage Muslims to read for themselves what God had said in His earlier revelations. We can also point out to Muslims that since they accept the hadith as authoritative, although they are never specifically spoken of in the Qur’an, how much more should the Taurat (Torah) and the Injil (Gospel) be received and accepted, which are spoken of repeatedly in the Qur’an?”

Textual foundation for evaluating the truth of spiritual teachings

http://livelifebythebook.com/2011/08/13/textual-foundation-for-evaluating-the-truth-of-spiritual-teachings/

Before you can evaluate the truth of any religion, you need to start with the historical accuracy of their primary documents. This link will take you to a study of how we can trust the truth of the Bible. All religious writings do not teach the same thing. You must know that you can trust what the Bible teaches to have a starting point for discussion. This overview article has links to these online videos:

Canonicity #1, How we got our Old Testament AND what makes the Bible different than other religious books
Canonicity #2: In between the Old and New Testament and what about the Apocrypha?
Canonicity #3: About the New Testament and the Gnostic Gospels
Canonicity #4: How the church decided what books were included in the Bible

In addition to these lessons the site http://www.livelifebythebook.com has additional ones on the differences between the Islamic and Christian view of Abraham and Jesus.
